The Ecological Footprint

I spent today coming up with fake articles for my "puff pieces" for my table of contents page. I searched on google about environmental stories to give me inspiration to write. I wrote about ten different article titles to start off and I will edit them if needed and change the authors names.

Today I spent my time looking for a format for my table of contents. I looked on the website Canva, and I wanted something that fit my theme of my serious environmental issue. I found a format originally for a travel magazine that had a black background and yellow font. I changed the color of the yellow text to a medium shade of green. I thought the green would compliment how I want my cover page to look and go hand in hand with the environment aspect of my magazine. I made sure to leave space at the top right corner and bottom left corner for pictures.

Today I headed out to the park to take pictures for my main story. After school ended at 2:15, I got my supplies and my friend Julianna drove us to the park. When we got there, I opened the cap and mixed all four colors (blue, green, orange, and red) of the food coloring into the maple syrup. I stirred it around until it appeared black. I then walked around for about 10 minutes looking for a scenic spot that most resembled North Dakota. I found a spot that looked the closest, and decided that is where I would take the pictures. I poured about half of the bottle of maple syrup onto the ground, then started taking pictures. I took about 20 photos, then decided I had gotten everything I needed.
